Q. Why should I create an account at

A. You should create an account if you plan to attend a USGIF event, become a USGIF member, or want to receive USGIF communications.


Q. How do I create an account?

A. Go to Click Create New Account and follow the instructions.


Q. How do I access my account?

A. Go to Click Login then enter your user name and password.


Q. I forgot or lost my password. How do I reset it?

A. Go to Click Login, then click Forgot Your Password? Enter your email address on the next page and an email will be sent to you with instructions on how to reset your password.


Q. What does “opt-out” mean with regard to USGIF email communications?

A. USGIF sends a variety of emails about Foundation events, programs, and initiatives. You have the ability to “opt-out” of specific email communications that you do not want to receive. By default, you will automatically receive all communications from USGIF unless you opt-out of selected categories.


Q. I see there are 13 categories of USGIF-related emails. Can you provide more detail about each category?

  • USGIF News - General USGIF updates and other relevant news.
  • Trajectory e-Newsletter (monthly) - Industry news from trajectory, the official publication of USGIF.
  • Training and Education Opportunities - Notifications about GEONT Community training events and education opportunities as well as information on USGIF education-related programs (academic accreditation, scholarships, etc.).
  • Credentialing and Professional Development - Notifications about GEOINT credentialing and certifications as well as broader activities in professional development.
  • GEOINT Symposium - Notifications about the GEOINT Symposium: agenda updates, speaker confirmations, registration, housing, etc.
  • GEOINT Community Week - Notifications about GEOINT Community Week: agenda updates, speaker confirmations, registration, etc.
  • GEOINTeraction Tuesday - Notifications about USGIF's bimonthly GEOINTeraction Tuesday networking events. These events take place in the Washington, D.C., metro area and feature senior government or military leaders from the GEOINT Community as speakers.
  • Other USGIF Events and Workshops - Notifications about additional USGIF events and workshops focused on topics and themes of importance to the GEOINT Community.
  • Exhibits and Sponsorships - Emails that provide information to individuals and organizations interested in exhibiting at or sponsoring USGIF events.
  • Advertising with USGIF - Emails that provide information to individuals and organizations interested in advertising in trajectory properties (print, website, e-newsletter), in GEOINT Symposium properties, or at other USGIF events.
  • Account Management and Renewals - Required system communications including, but not limited to, welcome emails, system updates, access updates, membership renewals, and account renewals.
  • Young Professionals - Communications aimed toward young professionals ages 35 or younger regarding activities and initiatives focused on this demographic.
  • Member Benefits (USGIF Members-Only) - Updates and information relating to your USGIF membership and the benefits you receive.  This includes early announcements of events and activities before the general public is informed.  

Q. How do I register for an event using USGIF Connect?

  • Go to
  • Click Login then enter your user name and password.
  • Once logged in, go to the Upcoming Events tab.
  • You may then search for events or view a full list of active events toward the bottom of the page.
  • Click on the hyperlinked name of the event you wish to attend.
  • Add the event to your shopping cart.
  • Continue to your shopping cart and check out.
  • You will then be registered as an attendee for the event, which can be viewed in your “My Events” tab.

Q. What must I do to become eligible to participate in USGIF’s committees and working groups?

A. USGIF committee and working group participation is available to USGIF individual members and to employees of USGIF member organizations. The only exception to this rule is the NRO ASP Industry Advisory Working Group, which is open to members and non-members alike.

Employees of USGIF member organizations that are not individual members but wish to serve on a committee or working group will be categorized as “volunteer representatives.”

To become a USGIF individual member or to sign up as a volunteer representative, visit the Online Store and select the option that best describes your affiliation.


Q. How do I sign up to participate in a USGIF committee or working group?

A. Visit here to view all active committees and working groups, then select the committee or working group for which you would like to become a participant. Next, email the committee or working group co-chairs at the email address listed in the description and you will be added to the distribution list for meeting information and announcements.
